Pre-Emergent Barrier + Spring Fertilizer
The most important application of the season. We lay down a pre-emergent barrier that stops crabgrass and summer annual weeds from ever germinating — before they get a foothold. Paired with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer that wakes your turf up strong. Miss this window and you're managing weeds all summer. We don't miss it.
Late Pre-Emergent + Slow-Release Fertilizer
A second pre-emergent extends the protective barrier through late spring, when a second flush of summer weeds can germinate. We follow it with a slow-release fertilizer blend that feeds your turf steadily over weeks — not in one burst — promoting even, durable growth without the surge-and-crash pattern of cheaper products.
Broadleaf Weed Control — A Wolf Turf Exclusive
This is where our program goes further. Alongside Application 02, we include a selective broadleaf herbicide targeting dandelions, clover, plantain, and other common lawn weeds that a pre-emergent can't stop. For lawns with tougher infestations — creeping charlie, wild violets, nutsedge — we escalate to a professional-grade selective herbicide that handles weeds most programs don't touch. This extra step is unique to Wolf Turf.
Preventive Grub Control + Summer Fertilizer
This application does double duty. A preventive grub control product is applied before grubs hatch in midsummer — eliminating soil-dwelling larvae before they destroy root systems from underground. Applied at the right time, this is dramatically more effective than treating after damage appears. A slow-release fertilizer blend continues feeding your turf steadily through summer heat without pushing excessive growth.
Late Summer Fertilizer + Color Enhancement
As summer heat gives way to the best growing conditions of the year, this application capitalizes on the window. A high-nitrogen blend with iron drives deep green color, supports root density heading into fall, and prepares the lawn for its strongest growth period. Iron is what separates a green lawn from a lawn that turns heads. Paired with core aeration and overseeding if applicable, this application is a foundation for a thicker, denser turf.
Winterizer — Season Close
The final application is one of the most impactful. Applied as the turf slows growth but while roots are still actively absorbing, the winterizer stores nutrients through the dormant season — nutrients that fuel faster green-up, stronger early growth, and better disease resistance come spring. Lawns that receive a proper winterizer consistently outperform those that don't when they break dormancy. It's the investment that pays forward into next season.
